Altea is a municipality located on the Costa Blanca Norte, in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community, the Spanish Levante bathed by the Mediterranean Sea.
It is known as the Dome of the Mediterranean and is considered one of the most beautiful villages on the Costa Blanca due to the beauty of its cobbled streets, white houses, pebble beaches, and the spectacular views from its historic center.
It has a population of 22,000 inhabitants on an area of 34 km2, of which 6 km are coastline. It borders the cities of L'Alfàs del Pi, La Nucía, and Callosa d'En Sarrià to the southeast, and Jalón, Benisa, and Calpe to the north. It is also very close to Benidorm, considered the main tourist center of Alicante.

This, together with its exceptional climate, has made the town the ideal place to practice sports at any time of the year. The most central are its urban beaches, Playa de La Roda and Playa de L'Espigó, located next to the promenade, with all kinds of services and very close to restaurants where you can taste the typical gastronomy of rice, fish and tapas.
Other beaches, also nearby are Cap Negret Beach, with wonderful views of the bay and Sierra de Bèrnia, Cap Blanch Beach, which you find next to the Club Náutico Altea with a length of more than a kilometer or Barreta Beach, next to the Luis Campomanes Marina.
