Alicante is one of the unique regions in Spain. Of course, it doesn't have the bustling importance of Madrid city or the flashy sophistication of Barcelona. But it features a comfortable and relaxed country friendliness.

Compared to other zones in Spain, Alicante's region is a very touristic place. Most Brits like moving to this city because of its all beautiful year-round weather and affordable lifestyle.

It has stunning palm tree flanked boulevards and shopping streets, sandy white beaches, and historical sites. Despite the natural beauty of Alicante city, the cost of living is low. The cost of rental in bigger cities like Barcelona is over 105% higher than Alicante.

Living in Alicante

Living in Alicante is a breathtaking experience. There are more sunshine and little rainfall in the city. Summers in Alicante are long and hot, while winters are mild. Also, when it rains, it's restricted to the spring or Autumn.

When you live in this city, you will enjoy almost a year-round outdoor life because it experiences an average of 320 days of sunshine. Interestingly, the city is located amidst mountains to the West and the Mediterranean to the East.

Like every other region in Spain, there are diverse ethnic groups in Alicante and the Costa Blanca. There's a multicultural atmosphere in the city.

The lifestyle in Alicante is awesome. The region has several championship golf courses, including the 15 different 18-hole courses that are two hours' drive within the city.

Again, if you like spending time on the beach, the city has some of the most beautiful beaches in Spain. Some of them are; Guardamar del Segura, La Zenia, Playa de los Locos, etc. Some of these beaches have great facilities that you can use for water sports.

Education

Alicante has a good education system. If you want to relocate with your family to the city, there are top-rated International Schools your children can attend. Since several British nationals live in the city, most of the schools in Alicante follow British curriculum.

If you are living in this fascinating city, some of the best schools to register your students are; King's College British School of Alicante, the COBIS British School of Alicante, and the European School.

Transportation in Alicante

If you are a Foreigner living in Alicante, you can use your foreign driving license alongside an international driving permit for the first 6 months. However, the authority will ask you to obtain a Spanish license once you are more than 6 months in the city.

During summer months, when tourism is at its peak in Alicante, the roads of the city are heavily congested. But when it's not tourist season, the road is clear.

However, moving your car too fast in Spain attracts a serious penalty. And it's part of their driving regulation to flashlights at other cars before you overtake.

Generally, living in Alicante is fun and affordable. And you will receive a warm welcome from the people.
