Altea is often referred to as the hidden jewel of Costa Blanca. It’s a low-cost seaside village with several amazing activities.

Even though Altea is a small town, it feels bigger when you are living there. This is because the town comprises people from different nationalities. So, living in Altea lets you meet people from around the world and learn about new cultures and languages.

Breathtakingly Gorgeous

Altea town is off the main coast road, so transportation isn’t an issue. You can easily access the Alicante airport via road or rail. Interestingly, the town has an effective local tram system that connects residents to Alicante, Benidorm, and other surrounding local towns. 

Community 

Compared to most of Costa Blanca’s resorts, Altea is relatively underpopulated. There are about 22,000 permanent residents in the town. And statistics show that one in three tourists who visit this location, settle from abroad. 

Altea started as a fishing village, but it now accommodates several new developments every year. Certainly, it remains one of the most friendly, elegant, and sort after locations in Costa Blanca. 

Health 

The health facilities in Altea are top-notch. The town is coined from the Arabic phrase ‘Health to All’ and offers great health services to its residents. 

The city has several public and private health facilities that can handle any medical condition. 

Schools 

Generally, there are more foreigners in Altea, so there are some top-rated international schools within the towns. Some of such schools are; Steiner-Waldorf institute. There are also several music and art academies in Altea.
